Builders R Us Construction (BRUS) is a general contracting company based in New York City and has over 18 years of experience in all aspects of new construction and building rehabilitation. A certified Minority Business Enterprise, BRUS works collaboratively with private developers, government agencies, local community groups, architects, and sub-contractors to ensure client satisfaction throughout all phases of a project.

Since its inception, BRUS has experienced impressive portfolio growth due to its capacity to identify and meet the needs of its client-base. Looking to the future, BRUS continues to strengthen its position as a general contractor while increasing its presence as a competitive developer. We welcome the opportunity to assist with the development of plans and specifications as they are developed and make recommendations with respect to construction feasibility, availability of material, labor force, time factors, and projected costs.

CORPORATE HISTORY & VISION

Founded in 1992 under the leadership of Peter Stefanopoulos, BRUS has completed close to 50 projects totaling over 1000 units in the Tri-State area. BRUS was one of the pioneers in the gut rehabilitation of affordable housing while maintaining work on various commercial and ground-up new construction projects. Having grown its Project and Administrative staff to make up an eleven-person team, the leadership now looks to leverage its reputation and abilities as a contractor toward becoming a Real Estate Developer and Manager. BRUS is on the road to capturing a full-service Real Estate presence in a highly competitive industry.

CORPORATE CAPACITY

BRUS was founded by Peter Stefanopoulos, who has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of general construction. Building on his expertise and directing his efforts to become a Real Estate Developer.

BRUS is both fully bonded and capable of posting substantial letters of credit to secure contracts. We are a certified Minority Business Enterprise (“MBE”) in both New York and New Jersey. Additionally, we are preapproved as a general contractor by the New York Department of Housing Preservation and Development, New York State Office of Mental Health, the Community Preservation Corp., among others.

The principals and staff of BRUS are highly regarded for their honesty and integrity, as well as their commitments to the successful completion of projects. Further, we pride ourselves on holding TEAMWORK to the highest regard, which results in our active participation towards making recommendations to the developers and the architect, on all aspects of planning for the project.
